Maxscape Control Daemon
The Maxscape control daemon is used to for user authorization and management tasks.
/maxscape/etc/maxdaemon.conf # Configuration file. /maxscape/etc/init.d/maxdaemon # Start/stop script. /maxscape/sbin/maxdaemon # Control daemon. /maxscape/server/maxdaemon/lib/perl/Maxscape/ServerApplication.pm # Control daemon callbacks:
The callbacks are defined in the file ServerApplication.pm.src file.
Set NETWORK_WATCH=1 to enable droping nasty sockets (SYN-RECV). You can add more
firewall iptables rules in the callback Control Daemon callback functions.
Use mkdist maxdaemon to produce a new ServerApplication.pm for the run-time
system.
Set ENABLE_WATCH_CLIENT_REQUEST=1 to drop too many requests in your Maxdaemon HTTP server configuration file
(e.g. /maxdaemon/etc/maxdaemon-maxscape.com.conf).
Note, before enabling the above options, that the current implementation assumes
that there are no other firewall table rules defined. Otherwise, you'll need to
adapt the code.
See '/etc/sysctl.conf' for adjustmants of the hosts's firewall (e.g. net.ipv4.tcp_syncookies=1) setup.
