Shell Environment

The default shell environment for the Unix users is globaly defined in the files:

/maxscape/etc/skel/
  .exrc
  .inputrc
  .less
  .lesskey
  .lessopen
  .profile
  .projectrc
  .tcshrc
  ...

/maxscape/etc/profile

Tcsh Shell Aliases for Easy Management

I recommend the use of the Tcsh shell so that you can use the predefined Tcsh aliases to ease management and administration tasks.

sp - Sets the Maxscape Shell Environment

The 'sp' script sets the Maxscape shell environment and launches a Tcsh shell in order to set the Tcsh aliases.

wp - Tells which Shell Environment is Set

The 'wp' script tells which shell environment is set.
